About the Role
Full job description Job Introduction HR & Talent Manager Location: Remote - United States (East Coast) Annual Salary: $90,000–$100,000 USD, depending on experience Contract: 12 Month FTC About Us Trusted by teaching communities worldwide, Twinkl provides instant access to a complete range of teaching, planning and assessment materials that support learning from birth through to secondary education and beyond. We believe every child deserves to feel loved, supported and inspired to learn. That’s why we’re passionate about creating engaging, high-quality educational resources that make a genuine difference to teachers, schools and families across the globe. Our library of over 1,000,000 teaching and learning resources has been created by experienced educators to support learning both inside and outside the classroom. From planning and assessment tools to leadership and wellbeing resources, we help educators focus on what matters most—inspiring learners. As Twinkl continues to grow in the US, we’re looking for an experienced US HR & Talent Manager to become the dedicated People partner for our US business, helping us attract great people, build high-performing teams and create a brilliant employee experience as we grow. About the Role This is a unique opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys the breadth of generalist HR but also loves finding and hiring great people. Although you’ll be based in the US, you’ll be a core member of Twinkl’s UK People Function, reporting directly to our UK-based Head of HR and working closely with colleagues across Talent Acquisition, People Operations, Learning & Development and Reward. You’ll also work in close partnership with our US General Manager and US leadership team, developing a deep understanding of their commercial priorities and the needs of our US colleagues. A key part of your role will be connecting these two worlds. You’ll develop a strong understanding of Twinkl’s established UK People systems, processes and ways of working and translate them into effective, scalable and legally compliant US practices. Equally, you’ll bring US expertise and insight back into the wider People Function, helping us improve how our teams work together and creating a more connected and inclusive experience for colleagues on both sides of the Atlantic. Alongside this, you’ll be responsible for supporting the full People journey across our US business, from workforce planning, talent attraction and recruitment through to onboarding, employee relations, performance, engagement, organisational change and development. This is a genuinely hands-on role. One day you might be advising the US General Manager on a workforce challenge; the next you could be sourcing candidates for a critical hire, coaching a manager through an employee relations issue or working with your UK colleagues to improve a People process for the US. You’ll also take ownership of our day-to-day partnership with our PEO, helping ensure our US employment, benefits, payroll and HR processes remain effective, compliant and scalable. In this role, you’ll: Partner with our US General Manager and leadership team to translate commercial priorities into practical people and workforce plans that support growth. Own end-to-end recruitment across the US, from understanding future workforce requirements and developing sourcing strategies through to candidate attraction, selection, offer and onboarding. Lead the employee lifecycle across our US workforce, supporting managers and employees across onboarding, performance, development, engagement, organisational change and offboarding. Coach managers through employee relations, performance and people decisions, building their confidence and capability while ensuring fair, consistent and commercially pragmatic outcomes. Shape organisational structures and workforce plans as the US business evolves, supporting restructures, succession planning and organisational change where required. Manage our relationship with TriNet and other US employment partners, working across payroll, benefits, compliance, employment advice and employee lifecycle administration. Ensure our US People practices remain compliant with federal, state and local employment requirements while effectively localising Twinkl's wider People policies and programmes. Use people and talent data, including hiring trends, headcount, turnover, engagement and market insight to identify opportunities, challenge assumptions and help leaders make better decisions. What You’ll Need to Succeed We’re looking for someone who combines strong US HR knowledge with a commercial, pragmatic and hands-on approach. You’ll enjoy operating with autonomy and moving between strategic conversations and operational delivery. You’ll bring: Strong experience operating as an HR Manager, HR Business Partner, People Partner or similar within the US. Strong working knowledge of US federal and state employment legislation and confidence navigating employee relations matters. Experience managing end-to-end recruitment, with the ability to partner with hiring managers, proactively source talent and deliver roles directly. The ability to build credibility quickly with senior leaders, providing constructive challenges as well as practical solutions. Experience across the wider employee lifecycle, including performance, engagement, organisational change and workforce planning. Confidence working autonomously within a remote, fast-moving or scaling organisation. Strong commercial judgement and the ability to use people data and market insight to influence decisions. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, particularly when working across different teams, cultures and time zones. If you’re excited by the opportunity to take genuine ownership of the People agenda for a growing US business and you enjoy combining HR expertise with the challenge of finding and hiring brilliant people - we’d love to hear from you.
